Associate senior lecturer

Associate senior lecturer

Associate senior lecturer in Building Technology with a specialization in Building Physics

  • Location

Linnaeus University
Vaxjo, Sweden

  • Missions

The associate senior lecturer will be working with research, education and collaboration. The main part of this position concerns research in the area of building physics with a special emphasis on applications in timber structures. Among others, this could include research related to (i) moisture transport and the risk for mold growth in wood-based constructions, (ii) moisture and temperature variations and their effect on the stability and load bearing capacity of wood-based products and connections, (iii) outdoor moisture and temperature variations and heating and ventilation systems, in relation to the indoor climate in wood buildings, (iv) energy efficiency in the production processes of wood-based products and timber structures, (v) acoustic performance of timber buildings.
The research is based on numerical modelling and experimental investigations and includes the practical implementation of results based on the needs of collaboration partners. The research environment aims for further collaborations with other disciplines for developing deeper insight into the physical behavior of materials and structures, such as through combinations of finite element methods with machine learning.
