PhD position in Characterisation of french secondary wood species

Characterisation of french secondary wood species for use in construction and for the production of wood products

  • Location

LMGC - Laboratoire de Mécanique et Génie Civil
Université de Montpellier

  • Missions

The thesis aims to assess the feasibility of bonding French Mediterranean timber species in various configurations, including homogeneous or hybrid joints with species for which bonding techniques are already well established. The objective is to adopt an exploratory and parametric approach in order to identify the factors influencing the joints behaviour and to highlight any technological barriers. The work will focus in particular on characterising bonding suitability, optimising manufacturing parameters, and evaluating mechanical performance and durability, notably through shear, delamination and creep tests.
