PostDoc position on AI for traceability and wood quality

They are looking for a PostDoc to support their work on the development and implementation of AI models and methods that enables individual log traceability and prediction of wood quality properties as a basis for optimizing the overall resource utilization and sustainability of the forest sector.

  • Mission

-Developing AI approaches and methods for analyzing image, lidar data and x-ray data for individual logs capture at the saw mill in support of traceability and wood quality measurement and prediction
-Developing AI approaches and methods for analyzing image, lidar data, and photogrammetric data of standing trees in the forest in support of traceability and wood quality measurement and prediction

  • Skills

-Relevant PhD (e.g. forest sciences, forest management, wood technology, or a related field)
-Strong quantitative skills
-Experience with statistical analysis and programming, preferably in R and/or Phyton
-Experience with publishing high-quality scientific papers within the field of the position
-A strong command of oral and written English
-Knowlegde of forestry in northern regions (e.g. Northern Europe, North America)
